Accessing the Tags Feature

To access the tags functionality, navigate to the Samples Menu from your Cosmos-Hub dashboard. This menu serves as the central hub for managing sample organization and provides multiple capabilities including filtering your dashboard view, adding tags, managing metadata fields, and generating comparative analyses .

Adding Custom Tags

Custom tags can be added to individual samples or groups of samples directly from the Samples menu. Different cohorts within a project can be defined by assigning unique custom tags to samples belonging to each cohort.

Filtering with Tags

Once tags have been applied to your samples, you can use them to filter your dashboard view. This filtering capability allows you to quickly focus on specific subsets of samples without having to manually search through your entire dataset.

Creating Comparative Analyses with Tags

One of the primary applications of tags is in creating comparative analyses. After adding custom tags to your samples, you can use those tags to automatically define cohorts when setting up a new comparative analysis. This eliminates the need to manually select individual samples for each cohort, significantly streamlining the analysis setup process.
After launching the Create CA menu, click “Reset Cohorts” to populate options for the tags section.
When creating a comparative analysis using custom tags, the system allows you to define cohorts based on the tags you’ve previously assigned. For example, if you’ve tagged samples with “Treatment_A” and “Treatment_B,” you can use these tags to automatically split your samples into two cohorts for comparison.
